Jonathan Taylor picked up another injury on Sept. 29 when the Indianapolis Colts beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, entering a recovery process with an ending that isn't clear for the team's fans.
The veteran running back was listed as DNP in both Wednesday and Thursday's practice session, the worst sign for Colts fans ahead of another divisional duel.
Despite not being the only player on the injury report this week, Taylor is the only one who won't be available for the Colts this weekend.
Jonathan Taylor injury update
Shane Steichen revealed on Friday that Jonathan Taylor is the only player ruled out for the Titans game, per reporter Stephen Holder.

This will be Taylor's second consecutive missed game following an ankle injury in Week 4. He posted 21 rushing attempts for 88 yards and one rushing touchdown while catching three passes for 20 receiving yards.
The good news for the Colts is that other players could still play on Sunday, including Josh Downs (toe), who was listed as DNP on Wednesday and Thursday.
Anthony Richardson (oblique) was a full participant in Thursday's session and should be good to go while Michael Pittman wasn't given a designation by Steichen despite being a DNP on Wednesday and Thursday.
He returned to practice Friday after reports suggested he would be added to injured reserve.
Do the Colts have healthy RBs for Week 6?
With Jonathan Taylor being ruled out for Sunday's game and Trey Sermon missing Wednesday and Thurday's practices, the possibility of having Tyler Goodson as the RB1 for Sunday looked real. With Sermon back in practice, that possibility is off the table.
The 25-year-old had a good game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, carrying the ball 10 times for 38 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
He's expected to have another busy game with Taylor officially out. The Titans have struggled this season, allowing 106 rushing yards to the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 30 before heading into the bye week.
Malik Willis (six carries for 73 rushing yards), Emmanuel Wilson (12 carries for 50 yards), and Josh Jacobs (14 carries for 43 yards) of the Green Bay Packers also feasted against the weak rushing defense of the Titans in Week 3.
Sermon should be in for a good game as the Colts will try to bounce back following a last-minute loss to the Jaguars to extend their losing streak as visitors in Jacksonville.
