Mike Florio gives his analysis on Tua Tagovailoa's Judo training

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has revealed that he will be training Judo to acquire tactics to avoid heavy falls on the ground, which can lead to concussions.

Last season, Tagovailoa sustained numerous concussions and missed several games, which wrecked the Dolphins' season. Mike Florio believes that Tagovailoa's Judo training will undoubtedly benefit him and help him continue his NFL career.

"I don't know how effective it'll be miles, but it's smart. And it's a concession that he needs to do something because the physics aren't in his favor."

Florio continued:

"When you're six feet tall and built like me, which is kind of how he's built, you're gonna get thrown to the ground by some big strong guys. And you better have a plan for not letting your head hit the turf, because that's how he got each of his two, three concussions in 2022."

There were significant worries as to whether Tagovailoa would be able to continue playing in the NFL after sustaining so many concussions. However, doctors have given him clearance to play again.

The Miami Dolphins have already announced that Tua Tagovailoa will be their starting quarterback for next season.

When Tua Tagovailoa was on the field, the Dolphins appeared invincible. He built excellent chemistry with Tyreek Hill, while Jaylen Waddle continued to make strides during his sophomore season in the NFL.

The AFC East is becoming increasingly competitive as the New York Jets are expected to acquire a veteran quarterback for the upcoming season, which will increase their chances of making the playoffs.

The Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots will also get better next season with players returning from injuries and coaching changes respectively, which is why Tagovailoa is so critical to the Dolphins.

The former Alabama quarterback was able to showcase his talent this past season and proved to people that he can play extremely well if he is surrounded by quality players. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniels loves his quarterback, and hopefully, the duo will continue to have success in Miami.
