Will JuJu Smith-Schuster play in the Super Bowl LVII tonight?

Super Bowl LVII - Kansas City Chiefs Media Availability
JuJu Smith-Schuster of the Kansas City Chiefs speaks to the media during the Kansas City Chiefs media availability

JuJu Smith-Schuster sustained a minor injury during the AFC Championship victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. With the squad having a week of rest, he is banged up for Sunday's game. He participated fully in all the team's practices this week and entered Super Bowl LVII without an injury designation.

The wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs could play a significant role when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. JuJu Smith-Schuster came in just behind Travis Kelce in terms of targets (101), catches (78), and yards (933) among pass receivers for the Chiefs this season.

The Kansas City Chiefs will need Smith-Schuster to be at the highest level possible to use their seemingly unstoppable passing attack against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.

What should fans expect from JuJu Smith-Schuster in the Super Bowl today?

Patrick Mahomes has a wide variety of aerial tools at his disposal. JuJu's first season with the Kansas City Chiefs has been quite uneven. He has 78 catches for 933 yards, but he has only three end-zone catches all season.

Patrick Mahomes is at ease with tight end Travis Kelce and running back Jerick McKinnon as trustworthy alternatives in the end zone, which is partly to blame for JuJu's inconsistency.

Smith-Schuster hasn't had a massive game since collecting ten receptions for 88 yards in a win over the Houston Texans in mid-December. Since then, he has received ten catches for 119 yards and no touchdowns in five games.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is currently healing from the knee inflammation he sustained in the win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game. Even while he appears to be playing, there are valid concerns about how the inflammation will affect his performance.

If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl and Smith-Schuster plays at least 50% of the offensive snaps, he will receive $1 million as part of the one-year, incentive-rich agreement he signed last offseason after leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers.
