Lamar Jackson's status for the Baltimore Ravens versus Cincinnati Bengals game received a major update ahead of Thursday night's matchup. The 2023 NFL MVP had been dealing with a knee injury that put his participation in this game in jeopardy.

On Wednesday, the Ravens removed him from the injury report, clearing the way for the quarterback to face off against Joe Burrow and the Bengals in a pivotal game for these teams' seasons.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the player is off the injury report and will play Thursday night.

Lamar Jackson injury: What happened to Ravens star QB?

Lamar Jackson returned to full practice Wednesday after a knee injury bothered him and made the team include him in the injury report on Monday. He previously missed two practices with knee and back injuries last week, but that didn't prevent him from playing and beating the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

While Derrick Henry stole the show with his rushing touchdowns, Jackson also drew a lot of attention with his maximum passing rating of 158.3. He was a shell of himself on the ground, though, rushing three times for only four yards.

Isiah Likely (hamstring) and Brent Urban (concussion) were ruled out for this game after neither participated in a single practice session this week.

The Baltimore Ravens have an impressive offensive unit that got a new weapon with Diontae Johnson. The wide receiver boosted a room that already had Zay Flowers as its leader.

Jackson has many tools to play with on Thursday. Given how things went down between these two teams the last time they clashed, fans should expect another entertaining matchup.

Ravens, Bengals needed overtime to settle first game of the season

Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season saw an early candidate for the game of the year featuring the Ravens and Bengals. The AFC North rivals went at it in a shootout that needed overtime to define the winner. The Ravens came out victorious after a field goal secured their 41-38 win.

This game could have the same script, as the Bengals have gotten better and the Browns demonstrated that the Ravens aren't unbeatable. Lamar Jackson went off that day (348 passing yards for four passing touchdowns) and Thursday's game presents a huge chance to do the same.
