Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs had to battle hard in Week 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Arrowhead Stadium to keep their perfect record this season intact. They staved off a stellar comeback from the Buccaneers to beat them 30-24 in overtime and improve to 8-0 and remain the only unbeaten team in the league. However, it came at a personal cost for Mahomes.
Less than a minute into the fourth quarter, the two-time MVP bailed from a collapsing pocket on a third-and-goal play before throwing a perfect looped pass to running back Samaje Perine to level the scores at 17-17. However, while running to the sideline, Mahomes jammed his foot and immediately hit the turf.

The Chiefs' medical staff rushed to examine Mahomes while his teammates and fans looked on in horror, fearing the worst. However, the quarterback sprung back up and jogged gingerly to the sideline before assuring coach Andy Reid that he was fine and didn't need to take any plays off.

While adrenaline got him through the rest of the game, there were concerns that he'd have to miss their divisional battle against the Denver Broncos in Week 10, but that isn't the case.
Is Patrick Mahomes playing in Week 10 vs. the Broncos?
Patrick Mahomes' name was on the Chiefs' injury report throughout the week after suffering an ankle injury in their win over the Buccaneers. However, he was a full participant on all three days, suggesting that he's healthy and fit to play against the Broncos on Sunday.
Kansas City will breathe a sigh of relief but will monitor Mahomes' ankle to ensure that he doesn't aggravate the injury. The Chiefs will be particularly worried about their quarterback's health this week, as the Broncos boast one of the most physical defenses in the league.
They rank joint-second in the league, alongside the New York Jets, in sacks per game, with 3.4. Denver's defensive line is vicious, and if Mahomes' mobility is a cause for concern due to his ankle ailment, he could be forced to endure a brutal beating or risk running around and potentially exacerbating his injury.
It remains to be seen whether Andy Reid protects Patrick Mahomes and calls a run-heavy game or trusts his offensive line to contain the Broncos' bruising defensive line.
