Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered a left shoulder injury against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 3, which was later deemed to be an AC joint sprain. As a result of his injury, Lawrence has been sidelined for the Jaguars' last two games.
Lawrence's injury has been treated on a week-by-week basis, and the team still seems to be using that approach with his injury as they head into their Week 12 matchup against the Houston Texans. As of right now, Lawrence hasn't ruled himself out of Sunday's game but also didn't rule out surgery to treat the injury if necessary.
Lawrence said while talking to reporters on Wednesday:
"I think [the sprained AC joint] has been a pretty difficult thing to gauge, honestly, of what's the best path forward. [Surgery is] definitely something that I'm considering and not off the table at all. It's something that we're going to have to just [approach] truly day-by-day, week-by-week."

Lawrence continued:
"Hopefully I'm able to get back out there this week or as soon as possible and then it's going to be just every week kind of evaluating it, seeing where it's at. Obviously up until this point I've been doing everything I can to avoid that and want to be back out there with my guys and finish the season. So that's my goal."
Lawrence has missed the last two games, both games that the Jaguars lost, dropping their record to 2-9 on the season. Lawrence has only missed one game in his career prior to the last two games he's missed.
Lawrence did take part in today's practice and was a limited participant.
It makes sense for Trevor Lawrence to remain sidelined for the remainder of the season
With the current state that the Jacksonville Jaguars are in, it makes sense for Trevor Lawrence to have surgery (if needed) to repair his shoulder.
The Jaguars are 2-9 and currently have the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft. With the Houston Texans at the top of the AFC South standings with a 7-5 record, the Jaguars' chances of winning the division are near-impossible.
The Jaguars are also expected to make changes to their coaching staff and potentially front office in the offseason.
The Jaguars don't really have much to play for this season, so shutting down Trevor Lawrence and making sure he doesn't worsen his shoulder injury makes a ton of sense.
