Xavier Worthy who was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft made waves during his time at the University of Texas at Austin, representing the Texas Longhorns at the collegiate level. After completing a successful college career, he announced his decision to enter the 2024 NFL Draft in January 2024. He was then invited to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, where he demonstrated his athletic skills through various on-field drills. Hailing from Fresno, California, he attended Central East High School in his hometown during his formative years. He established a solid foundation for a promising future in the sport by playing for the school's team. He was also selected to participate in the 2021 All-American Bowl, which was unfortunately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After finishing high school, he committed to playing college football at the University of Texas at Austin.

Worthy made his college debut in the 2021 season at Texas. During his three-season tenure, he accumulated 197 receptions, over 2,700 receiving yards, and scored 26 touchdowns. He also achieved a spot on the Second-team All-Big 12 in 2022 and secured a spot on the First-team All-Big 12 in both 2021 and 2023.

Worthy plays in the wide receiver position and is one of the most anticipated prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. Donning jersey number 1, he represented the Texas Longhorns from 2021 to 2023.

During the 2021 season, he set several new records including the most receiving yards in a single season with a total of 981 yards and the most receiving touchdowns in a single season with 12. He also set a school freshman record for receiving yards in a game by recording 261 yards against rival Oklahoma. His remarkable performance earned him recognition as a Freshman All-American and the title of Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2021.

In 2020, Worthy initially committed to playing college football at the University of Michigan and signed a letter of intent to the Michigan Wolverines. However, in 2021 he decided to decommit from the Michigan Wolverines. Ultimately, he transferred to the University of Texas at Austin and chose to play college football for the Texas Longhorns.
