The Cincinnati Bengals oversaw a huge change in their backfield in 2024, with Joe Mixon leaving the team and Zack Moss coming to fight Chase Brown for the No. 1 spot.
Here's a closer look at who is the better option.
Is Zack Moss a good draft pick?
The former Indianapolis Colts running back moved teams after impressing during last season. He had a diminished role because Jonathan Taylor was always going to take over the backfield, but in his limited game time, Moss did not disappoint, earning a good 4.3 yards per carry in 2023.

His ADP for 2024 is No. 85 and he's considered RB28, which is not surprising considering the offense that he'll play with. Still, he could become a viable RB2 option with some teams, especially as he's a good contributor in a passing game, a massive advantage for PPR leagues.
Is Chase Brown a good draft pick?
While the Bengals suffered from a lack of a passing threat in 2023 following Joe Burrow's injury, the running game was not great either. Brown, a rookie, did put in some respectable numbers, earning some 4.1 yards per carry.
Still, if you look at talent alone, it's understandable why Moss is the better player between the two. More importantly: Brown probably isn't going to get consistent playing time in order for you to use a draft pick on him.
His ADP for 2024 is No. 105 and he's RB37. There aren't bad numbers, especially as he's a change-of-pace running back who's also important in the running game, but it's more likely than not that he'll be available on the waivers when Week 1 starts.
Zack Moss vs Chase Brown: Whom should I draft?
Considering they have an ADP that's not that distant and Moss should get the bulk of the carries for the Bengals, this is an easy choice: Zack Moss.
Brown might feature on your roster if you have a place for a change-of-pace back, like Chris Thompson used to be a few years ago. But more often than not, he's going to sit on the bench during your fantasy football matchup.
