Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor announced at a press conference on Monday that running back Zack Moss would be out indefinitely due to a neck injury.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo later reported that Moss's neck injury would likely keep him out of action for at least the remainder of the regular season.
According to Garafolo, the star running back will not need surgery to address the neck issue; instead, he will take two months to rest before being re-evaluated.

Moss was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday. He has recorded 242 yards and two touchdowns on 74 carries this season.
In Moss's absence, the Bengals brought in running back Khalil Herbert from the Chicago Bears before Tuesday's trade deadline to increase their backfield strength alongside Chase Brown. The Bengals' regular season ends on Jan. 4.
Moss has been a key contributor for the Bengals throughout the season, so his long-term injury is a blow for the team. Herbert, however, provides depth behind running back Chase Brown, who posted career highs with 27 rushes and 120 yards in the team's 41-27 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders last weekend.
Zack Moss injury: What happened to the Bengals running back?
Zack Moss first popped up on the Cincinnati Bengals' injury report on Friday, two days before their Week 9 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The team designated him with a neck injury, and he was ruled doubtful to play.
Moss' status on the team's injury list was eventually changed from doubtful to out for that game, which the Bengals won 41–24. A more thorough assessment revealed that the running back's problem was severe enough to keep him out longer.
Head coach Zac Taylor stated on Tuesday that the team was "still gathering more information, but it doesn't look like he'll be back.”
Zack Moss joined Cincinnati in the offseason after Joe Mixon departed the organization to join the Houston Texans.
Moss and Chase Brown shared the Bengals' running back responsibilities at the start of the season. However, the second-year running back has been the more effective player in recent weeks. In Week 9, when Moss was not playing, Brown had 27 carries and 120 rushing yards against the Las Vegas Raiders.
