The Cincinnati Bengals will be without several pieces for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Zack Moss is among the players doubtful for Week 9's duel against Antonio Pierce's squad. The veteran running back is dealing with a neck injury after playing all eight games this season.

Cincinnati (3-5) is trying to get closer to the .500 mark after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8. Following a 1-3 start to the season, they had lost only one game in overtime against the Baltimore Ravens before winning two straight duels ahead of the Eagles matchup.

They need to start winning games to keep their playoff hopes alive, but injuries must start respecting their players if they want to compete with everything.

Zack Moss injury update: What happened to Bengals star RB?

NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Zack Moss was listed as doubtful on the Bengals' injury report on Friday. The running back is one of two offensive players listed as doubtful for this duel, as Tee Higgins remains out with a quad injury.

The week started on a high note for Moss, who was a full participant in both Wednesday and Thursday's session. However, he missed practice on Friday, sounding the alarms for the coaching staff. He was listed as doubtful, and this update would predict that he won't be available for his team against the Raiders.

In eight games this season, Moss has carried the ball 74 times, racking up 242 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He's also caught 23 passes for 187 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown. Without Moss, the Bengals will turn to Chase Brown to get the heaviest workload against the struggling Raiders.

Brown has posted 78 rushing attempts for 359 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. He hasn't been as impactful as Moss as a receiver, only catching 16 passes for 61 receiving yards and a passing touchdown.

Cincinnati will try to worsen the Raiders' situation while they bounce back with a win in Week 9. It won't come at an easy price, especially knowing that besides Zack Moss and Tee Higgins, Orlando Brown is also doubtful for this game. The AFC North team had high expectations entering this season, but they've had to play hard to even aspire to have a positive record.
