Aman Khan Career
Aman Khan has not executed his potential on paper to his full potential. His round-about abilities have been underutilized and he will be eyeing to create an overall impact in the future.
Aman Khan Domestic Career
Aman Khan made his domestic debut for Mumbai against Saurashtra in the fourth quarter-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2020-21 season in Delhi on March 09, 2021. A captain’s masterclass by Prithvi Shaw meant that Khan did not get an opportunity to express himself with the bat on his List-A debut. He scored a fast-paced 25 off 18 balls in the second semi-final of the tournament against Karnataka. Khan was expensive with the ball in the final, and neither got an opportunity to bat. However, Mumbai defeated Uttar Pradesh to clinch the final.
In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22 season, Khan made his T20 debut for Mumbai against Karnataka in Guwahati on November 04, 2021, under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane. He was dismissed for a run by Vidyadhar Patil in the second innings.
The 27-year-old all-rounder moved to Puducherry from Mumbai for the domestic season that lies ahead in 2024-25.
Aman Khan IPL Career
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) signed Aman Khan for his base price of INR 20 lakhs at the IPL 2022 mega auction. He debuted in IPL against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 15, 2022. In his maiden outing, Khan came in to bat at No. 9 and was dismissed by Jagadeesha Suchith. That was his only game where he represented the Knight Riders.
Ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction, Khan was traded to Delhi Capitals in exchange for bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur. Though he had a below-par season with the bat, the all-rounder performed a rescue act for the Capitals against the eventual runners-up Gujarat Titans (GT). Coming in at 23/5, Khan showed good temperament to hold on with the bat and scored a steady maiden IPL half-century. He also stitched a half-century stand with all-rounder Axar Patel to steady the Capitals’ innings. However, he fell prey to Rashid Khan in the penultimate over.
Khan finished the season by scoring a mere 110 runs with the bat at a strike rate of 108.91 in 9 innings. Following his poor stint, the all-rounder was released by the Capitals and found no takers in the IPL 2024 auction.
