Career
Domestic Career
The dasher made his List A debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 25 February 2017 against Uttar Pradesh. Jagadeesan, later that yearmade his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy on 27 October 2016 against Madhya pradesh, where he won the man of the match award. Playing for the Dindigul Dragons’, the wicketkeeper-batsman ended the 2016 season of TNPL as the highest run scorer and eventually was named as the Player of the Tournament. He has so far played 23 FC games and scored 1174 runs at an average of 39.13.
IPL Career
Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batsman Narayan Jagadeesan is a huge admirer of MS Dhoni and it was a dream-come-true for the young cricketer to be picked up by the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2018 Player Auction for his base price of 20 lakh INR. He hasn't got any opportunity in the playing XI so far, obviously due to the presence of MSD but he could play as a pure batsman in the upcoming season.
Background
Jagadeesan wished to become a fast bowler but his mentor and father suggested him to become a wicketkeeper. According to him, his wicket-keeper role helps him a lot to develop his batting as he can observe each ball minutely and can watch the whole game at a 360-degree angle in the ground.
