Luis Miguel Castillo is a Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher born on December 12, 1992. He is from the Dominican Republic and currently plays for the Seattle Mariners. It was in 2017 that he debuted in Major League Baseball with the Cincinnati Reds.

In December 2011, Castillo signed a contract as an international free agent with the San Francisco Giants. Later, in 2012 he made his professional debut with the DSL Giants, where he played the entire season, finishing 1–3 in 54.1 relief innings pitched with a 3.31 ERA. He returned in 2013 and went 0-1 with a 0.64 ERA in 27 bullpen appearances. He then played for the Augusta GreenJackets in 2014, going 2–2 with a 3.07 ERA in 48 appearances.

He made his Major League debut with the Cincinnati Reds on June 23, 2017, against the Washington Nationals. Since his debut, he has solidified his spot as pitcher and garnered much appreciation and respect from all his colleagues and fans alike. Luis Castillo’s Early Life

Castillo and Kendry Flores were traded to the Miami Marlins on December 20, 2014, in exchange for Casey McGehee. He played with the Greensboro Grasshoppers in 2015 before being promoted to the Jupiter Hammerheads in July. Between the two clubs, he went 6–6 with a 3.20 ERA in 35 games (16 starts).

Castillo joined Jupiter at the start of the 2016 season and was promoted to the Jacksonville Suns. In exchange for Andrew Cashner, Colin Rea, and Tayron Guerrero, the Marlins traded Castillo, Jarred Cosart, Josh Naylor, and Carter Capps to the San Diego Padres on July 29, 2016. After Rea was injured in his first start and sent back to the Padres, he was traded to the Marlins. After the season, the Marlins added him to their 40-man roster. He went 8–6 with a 2.26 ERA in 26 games (24 starts) between Jupiter and Jacksonville.

Castillo made his Major League Baseball debut on June 23, 2017, when the Reds promoted him against the Washington Nationals. Before being called up, he had a 4–4 record and a 2.58 ERA in 14 starts for Pensacola. Following his promotion, Castillo played with the Reds for the rest of the season, going 3–7 with a 3.12 ERA in 15 starts. 2018 saw him into Cincinnati's starting lineup. He had a 10–12 record with an ERA of 4.30 in 169+2⁄3 innings in 31 starts for the Reds that season.
