Mohit Rathee

Mohit Rathee is an Indian cricketer known for his all-round abilities. He bats right-handed and bowls leg spin, making him a valuable player on both fronts. Rathee played domestic cricket for the Services team and was picked by the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the 2023 mini-auction.

He made his professional debut for Services against Jharkhand in the 2022–23 Ranji Trophy on December 27, 2022. He scored a half-century in his debut game, showcasing his talent. His first-class career got off to a great start, as he amassed 138 runs and claimed nine wickets during the season.

The Punjab Kings noticed his skill in February 2023 and acquired him for ₹20 lakh at the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. He played his first Twenty20 match for the Punjab Kings against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9, 2023. He and Shikhar Dhawan shared an incredible unbeaten 55-run partnership on his IPL debut, which broke the previous record for the best 10-wicket stand in IPL history. Mohit Rathee started his domestic career with first-class cricket on 27 December 2022 in the Ranji Trophy. In his first Ranji Trophy match, playing for Services against Jharkhand, Mohit scored an excellent 69 runs off 81 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes in the first innings, which helped his team reach a strong total. In the second innings, Mohit Rathee batted explosively in the lower order and scored 25 runs off 18 balls with the help of four fours and a six. Besides showing his prowess from the bat, Mohit Rathee also bowled 34.5 overs in this match where he took two wickets while giving 146 runs. Despite his excellent all-round performance, Jharkhand managed to win the match by 9 wickets. Mohit Rathee has so far scored 138 runs in eight innings of four first-class matches at an average of 17.25, in which his highest score has been 69, which came in his debut match. It was the only half-century of his first-class career. With the ball, Mohit had taken 9 wickets in seven innings at an economy of 3.46, in which his best performance has been 3 wickets for 94 runs.

Mohit Rathee made his debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy on 16 October 2023 against Sikkim, where he did not get a chance to bat but he took a wicket while bowling.

Mohit Rathee has played a total of 7 T20 matches so far, out of which one match has also been of IPL, where he had taken five wickets while bowling and has scored a total of 21 runs. Out of these 21 runs, only one run is from his IPL career.
