Who is Drake?
Aubrey Drake Graham, popularly known by his stage name, Drake, was born on October 24, 1986, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Graham's parents divorced when he was a child, and he was brought up by his mother. During the summertime, he frequently visited his father, a drummer whose family had musical connections.
His real interest was music, though, and he started rapping in the meantime, using his middle name for his "nom de hip-hop”. He himself published his debut compilation, Room for Improvement, in 2006.
The Canadian rap musician first became known as an actor on the famous teen television series Degrassi: The Next Generation and carried on a successful and influential musical career. His characteristic mixture of singing and lyrical rap and braggadocio juxtaposed with a raw vulnerability has earned him a great number of followers.
