The Expendables 1 Cast

The Expendables is a 2010 action movie. In addition to directing the movie, Sylvester Stallone also starred in it. This film was created to honor the huge action films from the 1980s and the first decade of the 1990s.

This is the first film in the Expendables franchise and in this thriller film, soldier Barney Ross and his squad of paid assassins are recruited to take down an evil dictator in South America. However, things get tricky when they have to confront a former CIA agent who has turned against them.

Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone plays Barney Ross in The Expendables. Stallone started his acting career in the early 1970s and acted in various films in small roles. He got his big break in 1976 when he wrote and starred in the movie Rocky.

In addition to his acting career, Stallone is renowned for his benevolent offerings to numerous causes. Millions of dollars have been donated by him to organizations such as the Police Athletic League and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Jason Statham

Jason Statham, born on September 12, 1967, is an English actor and martial artist who plays Lee Christmas in The Expendables. He is well-known for his roles in Guy Ritchie's crime movies like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Revolver.

Statham has also appeared in supporting roles in several American films, including The Italian Job. He also appeared in The Transporter, The Bank Job, Crank, War, and Death Race. After working with famous action actors like Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, and Dolph Lundgren, Statham rose to the status of a recognizable action hero in The Expendables

Jet Li

Jet Li portrays Yin Yang in The Expendables. He is a Chinese martial artist, actor, wushu champion, and a global movie star. He began his journey with intense training under Wu Bin, eventually winning his first national championship with the Beijing Wushu Team.

At the age of 17, he retired from wushu and transitioned into a celebrated actor in China, making his debut in the movie Shaolin Temple in 1982. Li gained fame in China for his roles in critically acclaimed martial arts films, notably as the folk hero Wong Fei Hung in the Once Upon A Time In China series. He ventured into Hollywood, initially as a villain in Lethal Weapon 4, and later took on a leading role in Romeo Must Die.

Dolph Lundgren

Dolph Lundgren portrays Gunner Jensen in The Expendables. He is a martial artist, actor, and filmmaker from Sweden. In 1985, Rocky IV gained notoriety when he portrayed the commanding Russian boxer Ivan Drago. Since then, he has appeared in over 40 films, most of them are action pictures.

He portrayed Frank Castle in The Punisher and He-Man in Masters of the Universe in 1987. He had cameos in films, including Showdown in Little Tokyo, Universal Soldier, Joshua Tree, and Johnny Mnemonic in the early 1990s.
