The Daily Show will feature weekly hosts till the fall of 2023, followed by the eventual replacement of Trevor Noah.

After Noah's final show on December 8, Comedy Central executives will have an "all-star list," according to a report by Vulture published on December 6. Leslie Jones, a former cast member of Saturday Night Live (SNL), will begin serving as one of the temporary hosts on January 17.

The other hosts on the list include actors Chelsea Handler, Wanda Sykes, and other stand-up comedians. D.L. Hughley, John Leguizamo, Kal Penn, Marlon Wayans and

Hasan Minhaj, a fan favorite and former Daily Show regular, who had a successful Netflix series called Patriot Act with a similar format to The Daily Show but with a more in-depth examination of the contemporary political landscape.

Roy Wood Jr. and Dulcé Sloan, current correspondents and contributors, will also serve as guest hosts. Jen Flanz, the executive producer, claims that this is the "first time" they have ever allowed "outsiders" to guest host. The Daily Show with a lead is expected to debut in September 2023, but the show's producers aren't in a rush to find a replacement. The hosts on the guest list, however, shouldn't be thought of as a screening for Noah's eventual replacement.

Why did Trevor Noah leave The Daily Show?

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Noah expressed his opinion that events should not drag on. "Maybe this comes with not being raised in America, but I believe that everything should end. "A lot of American businesses and American media are just like, "Keep it going as long as possible," but I think it’s healthy for things to end when they’re still in a good place. "I want to leave before I’m burnt out because there are many other things I’d like to do," the stand-up comedian told the publication.

After Noah's final show was broadcast on December 8, Vulture reported that Comedy Central executives had a full, star-studded list of potential weekly hosts through the fall of 2023. Leslie Jones, a previous cast member of Saturday Night Live, will serve as the host in the near future.
