Robert Downey Jr. married Susan Levin (now Downey) in August 2005.
On the set of “Gothika” in 2003, Downey got to know producer Susan, who worked as Silver Pictures' executive vice president of production. Downey and Susan secretly started dating during filming, despite the fact that Susan initially refused his advances twice. The couple's relationship continued after filming on “Gothika” was finished, regardless of Susan's concerns that it would not be because, as Susan said, "he's an actor; I have a real job."
Downey proposed to Susan on November 5, 2003, the night before her 30th birthday. The pair wed in a Jewish ceremony in Amagansett, New York, on August 27, 2005. To honor her, he has a tattoo of "Suzie Q" on one of his biceps.
