The Super Bowl has been through plenty of transitions since the merge. With the Green Bay Packers winning the first two editions of the Super Bowl, many had doubts about the competitiveness. However, the AFL teams shut every criticism in the coming few years as the Jets and the Chiefs marched victorious. After the merger in 1970, three franchises the Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, and Steelers dominated the 1970s winning a total of eight Super Bowls between them.

The Super Bowl has also had its records and events since its first edition. As the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots are tied with a record six Super Bowl wins, The Patriots hold the record for most Super Bowl appearances with eleven. Moreover, eight teams have never been able to win the trophy despite playing for it in the grand event. While the Patriots and Broncos have the most Super Bowl losses at five, there are also a few franchises which we can call unbeaten in the Super Bowl.
