Baltimore Ravens Bio

The Baltimore Ravens are an NFL franchise who currently compete in the AFC North Division of the National Football League. The Ravens are one of the youngest NFL franchises having been established in 1996. The Ravens were founded by former Cleveland Browns owner Art Modell. He planned on relocating the franchise to Maryland in 1995 but faced criticism from fans. Thus, he established the Baltimore Ravens in 1996 with the entire roster of the Cleveland Browns. Since being established in 1996, the Ravens have been a successful team, with two Super Bowl wins and two Conference Championships. The Baltimore Ravens have been owned by Steve Bisciotti since 2004. The franchise is valued at approximately $3.9 billion. Donning their purple and gold jerseys, the Ravens have historically been appreciated for their defense. Under players like Ray Lewis the Ravens were feared for their ferocious defense and in 2000, they were ranked as the league’s best defense. Currently the Ravens have been spearheaded by the dynamic quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Baltimore Ravens Roster 2023-24

The Ravens have a strong squad going into the 2023-24 NFL season. Lamar Jackson headlines the roster with stellar performances ever since he joined the NFL. One of only two unanimous NFL MVP honored players, Jackson will be the most crucial attacking threat for the Ravens. Linebacker Roquan Smith is going to be a defensive backbone for the roster and is one of the best in his position. Tight end Mark Andrews and cornerback Marlon Humphrey are roster names who have the potential to make a huge impact for the Ravens in the upcoming season too. Kicker Justin Tucker of the Ravens has enjoyed unparalleled success in his position and is a constant name on the Ravens' starting roster.

NFL 2023 Draft first round pick Zay Flowers is a much needed support for Lamar Jackson as the rookie wide receiver has the potential to become a starter for the team in the upcoming NFL season. LB Trenton Simpson and pass rusher Tavius Robinson are two other rookie players in the Ravens' squad who have the potential to make an impact for the team.

FAQs

The Baltimore Ravens have a number of team chants however, the signature Baltimore Ravens chant is called ‘The Baltimore Ravens Fight Song’.

This is how the chant goes:

“ Baltimore Ravens Lets go

And put that ball across the line

So fly on with talons spread wide

Go in and strike with Ravens pride

  FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT”

Thus, he just formed an entirely new franchise called Baltimore Ravens and transferred the entire Cleveland Browns roster to his new team. The Cleveland Browns remained a separate franchise.

The starting running back for the Baltimore Ravens this season is Gus Edwards. Other running backs in the Ravens roster include Kenyan Drake, Mike Davis, Patrick Ricard and Justice Hill.
