Coco Gauff is an American professional tennis player, who is ranked No. 3 (as of November 2024) in singles. Born on March 13, 2004, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, Gauff won her first major singles title at the 2023 US Open defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the final. With the win, she became the first American teenager to win the US Open since Serena Williams in 1999.

Gauff made her WTA tour debut at the Miami Open in March 2019. She won her first WTA singles title at the Linz Open in 2019 and has won nine singles titles in her career so far, including one Grand Slam. She recently won the 2024 China Open, defeating Karolina Muchova in the finals. She was selected by the United States Olympic Committee to be one of the country's flag bearers at the opening ceremony alongside LeBron James.

Gauff became the youngest player to defeat World No. 1 and No. 2 at the WTA Finals since Kim Clijsters in 2002 when she defeated Swiatek in the group stage and World No. 1 Sabalenka in the semifinals. She became the youngest player since Maria Sharapova in 2004 when she defeated gold medallist Qinwen Zheng at the WTA Finals after trailing by one set.

In doubles, she has won nine titles to date. She made the final at the US Open in 2021, and the French Open in 2022 in doubles. She achieved her career-high ranking of World No. 1 in doubles after qualifying for the 2023 WTA Finals along with Jessica Pegulaand also became the first player to qualify in both disciplines in back-to-back years since Sara Errani. She, along with Pegula, won the 2023 Miami Open doubles title and became the first all-American duo to do so in 22 years. They defeated Leylah Fernandez and Taylor Townsend in the final.
