Major injuries Aaron Gordon sustained in the NBA

Hip Flexor (January 2018)

In January 2018, Aaron Gordon suffered a strained left hip flexor during a game against the Indiana Pacers on January 27th. The injury occurred when he awkwardly twisted and felt a pull in his left hip while making a defensive play. Despite the pain, Gordon played through the remainder of the game but woke up the next morning realizing the severity of the injury, as reported by the official NBA website.

The injury forced him to miss the Magic's next game against the Houston Rockets on January 30, and it was expected that he would also be out for more games, due to the injury he missed 9 games from January 30, 2018, to February 21, 2018. Gordon described the injury as an awkward pull that happened when he was bumped while trying to make a defensive stop. He was relieved that it was just a strain and not something more severe.

Ankle (February 2021)

In February 2021, Aaron Gordon experienced a significant high-ankle sprain in his left ankle during a match against the Toronto Raptors on February 28th. The injury took place in the third quarter when he rolled his ankle while advancing the ball up the court. Gordon quickly transitioned into a hop step and was seen grimacing due to pain. He exited the game using crutches and did not come back, as per the official NBA website.

Gordon sustained a high-grade sprain, with an estimated recovery time of 4 to 6 weeks; however, he ended up missing 15 games from February 2, 2021, to March 10, 2021, while playing for the Orlando Magic.
