Bobby Portis Jr. is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks. Born on February 10, 1995, Portis attended Hall High School in his hometown, Little Rock, Arkansas. His impressive high school basketball career earned him prestigious recognitions, including McDonald's and Parade All-American awards, as well as the title of Mr. Basketball of Arkansas in 2013.

For college, Portis attended University of Arkansas, where he emerged as a standout two-way threat and potential first-round draft pick. Due to his outstanding contributions in his sophomore season, Portis was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team and earned second-team All-SEC recognition.

In the 2015 NBA Draft, Portis was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 22nd overall pick. In his early NBA career, he was a great off the bench two-way player for the Bulls, but soon his career was marred with controversies.

On October 17, 2017, Portis punched teammate Nikola Mirotić during a practice altercation, causing Mirotić to suffer a concussion and facial fractures. Portis was subsequently suspended for eight games by the Chicago Bulls.

Subsequently, he was traded, and after brief stints with the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks, Portis joined the Milwaukee Bucks where his career rejuvenated. His impactful performances off the bench played a crucial role in the Bucks' 2021 championship victory, with fans often chanting his name in several playoff games.

Portis is still a premier bench player in the NBA as he finished third in the NBA Sixth Man of the Year during the 2022/23 NBA season with averages of 14.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, per game.
