Established in 1970, The Cleveland Cavaliers are a professional basketball team from the heart of Cleveland, Ohio. The Cavs play in the Eastern Conference of the NBA and won the historic NBA Championship in 2016 where they became the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-1 deficit and win the series in the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors led by Lebron James and Kyrie Irving.

The Cavs initially played their home games at Cleveland Arena from 1970 to 1974 but later shifted to the Richfield Collesium from 1974 to 1994. Finally, since the 1994 season, the Cavs have been playing their home games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse a stadium that is shared with their local counterparts i.e. Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League, and has a capacity of 19,432 according to Forbes.

The Cavaliers have two mascots, Moondog and Sir CC. The name Moondog represents the city's rock and roll culture and is inspired by Alan Freed, a popular disc jockey in Cleveland who referred to himself as 'Moondog'.

Sir C.C. is the second mascot to represent the franchise who made his debut in 2010. He is a swashbuckler character, which means a heroic protagonist stock character who is skilled in swordsmanship and possesses chivalrous ideals.
