Danny Green is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. Green was born on June 22, 1987, in North Babylon, New York, U.S. He attended North Babylon High School in North Babylon, New York as a freshman. From his sophomore season onwards, he switched to St. Mary's High School, a private school, in Manhasset, New York.

Green was considered a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and was rated the No. 8 shooting guard and the No. 31 player in the nation in 2005.

For college, Green attended North Carolina and played for the Tar Heels. He averaged 11.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.9 turnovers, 1.2 steals, 1.2 blocks in 22.3 minutes per game as a junior.

Green was named team captain in his senior season, where he led his team to their fifth NCAA championship in 2019. He averaged 13.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.7 turnovers, 1.8 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game as a senior. He was selected to the All-ACC third team and the ACC's All-Defensive Team. He ended his college career with 1,368 points.

Green was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the 46th overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft. In an NBA career spanning over 15 years, Green has played for multiple teams, including the San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Memphis Grizzlies.

The veteran shooting guard is one of just four players in the history of the league to have won NBA championships with three different teams. Green was also voted into the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2017.

Green last played for the Philadelphia 76ers, before being waived off by them on November 1, 2023.
