After Donovan Mitchell was drafted, it looked like the Utah Jazz would be a force to be reckoned with. In the 2020-21 season, the Jazz had the best record in the league. They had 52 wins and only 20 losses. It was a shortened season and only 72 games were played due to COVID-19. Donovan Mitchell and the Jazz looked like they were going to win it all before they lost to the undermanned Clippers team and things were never the same again.

On September 1, 2022, Mitchell was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Lauri Markkanen, Collin Sexton, Ochai Agbaji, three-first round picks and two pick swaps. In his single season with the Cavs, Mitchell has already set records. He scored 71 points against the Chicago Bulls in the 2022/23 season. He is one of only eight players to score 70 or more in a regular season game in NBA history.

Donovan Mitchell’s Girlfriend

When Donovan Mitchell was first drafted in the league, he was dating Deja Lighty. It is reported that Lighty has a degree in Sports Management. She got her degree from Temple University and was previously working for the Cleveland Cavaliers as an account executive.

Mitchell was playing for the Utah Jazz in 2017 so there was a massive distance between the two. The couple broke up in the fall of 2019. Not much is known about why they broke up except for the distance between the couple which may have created separation between the two.

Recently he was dating Tinara Westbrook who had posted a picture of Mitchell in an Instagram post to make things official in September of 2022. However, both Mitchell and Tinara have not posted pictures of them being together in a while and their official Instagram accounts show no signs of them dating. It could also be that the pair have broken up already but it is not yet confirmed.

Donovan Mitchell is mostly focused on basketball, his family, and promoting his sponsorships like his deal with Adidas. When it comes to relationships, Mitchell has stayed quiet and even if he is dating, he does it in a secretive way.

Currently in his second season with the Cavs, Mitchell and the rest of the group are looking to advance much further in this year’s playoffs after a disappointing first round exit in 2023.
