Rui Hachimura was born on February 8, 1998 in Toyama, Japan. In his childhood, he used to play both basketball and baseball as a catcher and a pitcher. He played basketball in Japan throughout his high-school years and for the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the United States. He eventually made his NBA debut for the Washington Wizards on October 23, 2019.
