Dyson Daniels is an Australian shooting guard for the Atlanta Hawks. Born in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia, Daniels began playing basketball at age seven and attended Bendigo South East College. He played for the NBL1 team, the Bendigo Braves in 2019. He later joined the NBA Global Academy at the Australian Institute of Sport. Daniels first broke out during the 2018 FIBA Oceania Under-15 Championship, where he led Australia to the gold medal. Daniels later joined the NBA G League Ignite, opting for the developmental path over college and NBL offers. During his stint with Ignite in the 2021-22 season, Daniels averaged 12 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and two steals across 26 games. He also had a break-out performance in the 2022 NBA Rising Stars Challenge, helping his team secure the title. Following his strong G League season, Daniels was noted by NBA scouts, as he was selected 8th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans.

During his two seasons with the Pelicans, Daniels showed steady improvement, averaging 4.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. In the summer of 2024, Daniels was traded to the Atlanta Hawks.
