Evan Mehdi Fournier is a French basketball player. He has played for the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics in the NBA in the past. Presently, he is playing in the Guard-Forward position for the New York Knicks in the NBA.


Evan Fournier was born on October 29, 1992 in Saint-Maurice, Val-de-Marne, France. The Sacramento Kings team from 2001-2002 caused him to take an interest in basketball. He used to wear the number 10 on his jersey as a tribute to Mike Bibby who was on the Sacramento Kings team back then.


Evan Fournier played basketball in France for various teams like JSF Nanterre (LNB Pro B) and Poitiers Basket 86 (LNB Pro A) before joining the NBA. He eventually made his NBA debut in 2012. He has since then garnered various achievements like 2-times French League Best Young Player, 2-times French League Most Improved Player, LNB All-Star in 2012 and member of the All-World Cup Team in 2019. He has also represented France at the European U-18 Championship (2009 in France), European U-20 Championship (2011 in Spain), EuroBasket (2015 in France and 2022 in Germany), FIBA Basketball World Cup (2014 in Spain and 2019 in China) and the Summer Olympics (2020 in Tokyo, Japan).


Fournier has managed to notch up a PPG of 6.1 with a RPG of 1.8, APG of 1.3 and a PIE of 4.6 in his NBA career so far. He is representing the France National Basketball Team at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
