Franz Jacob Wagner is a German basketball player. He is currently playing in the Forward position for the Orlando Magic in the NBA.

Franz Wagner was born on August 27, 2001 in Berlin, Germany. He is the younger brother of basketball player Moritz “Mo” Wagner. Like his older brother, he also played basketball in Alba Berlin and the University of Michigan before getting to the NBA. He eventually made his NBA debut for the Orlando Magic in 2021. He has since then become one of the most valuable members of the team like his brother. He was a member of the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2022. He was also named the BBL Best German Young Player in 2019. He represented Germany at the 2022 EuroBasket in Germany.

Wagner has achieved a PPG of 18.6 with a RPG of 4.1, APG of 3.5 and a PIE of 11.0 in his NBA career so far. Like his older brother, he is also a member of the Germany National Basketball Team for the upcoming 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Beate Wagner is Franz Wagner’s mother. A freelance medical writer by profession, she was responsible for developing him into a basketball player. She along with her husband spent more time with Franz Wagner to ensure that he has all the qualities to become a NBA basketball player like his older brother. She even sent him to study at the University of Michigan, where her older brother studied at one time.

She saw both of her sons playing together against the Boston Celtics and was very proud of them. According to her, it was exciting to see them play together at the same time. She also stated that they have never played basketball together. They played in the same club but not on the same team. So, she was happy to see them playing for the same team in the NBA.
