Kobe Bufkin is an American basketball player at the college level for the University of Michigan Wolverines. Born on September 21, 2003, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Bufkin stands at 6 '4, and is a guard for the Michigan Wolverines.

Bufkin studied at the Grand Rapids Christian High School. In school, Bufkin averaged 22 points in his sophomore year, leading the team to a 16-6 winning record. His point contribution increased to 25 points in his senior year before he fractured his arm.

After a successful high school career, the 4-star recruit committed to the University of Michigan. He also received offers from other prestigious colleges such as Ohio State and LSU. While his freshman year passed without much activity, Bufkin’s sophomore year saw him get more playing time. Seizing the opportunity, Bufkin shined by putting on some noteworthy performances through the season.

Some of his accolades include being named to the McDonald All-American and Jordan Brand Classic teams and earning All Big-Ten Third Team recognition from the media.

According to his parents, Bufkin wanted to be a football player for the University of Michigan when he was 5 years old. However, at the age of 7, he fell in love with basketball.


Not much is known about Bufkins parents as they generally lay low and focus on supporting their son in the best way possible. They are seen attending most of his games and cheering for him. What is known is that they have shaped Bufkin’s life and have supported him in all his decisions.
