Lauri Elias Markkanen is a Finnish basketball player. He has previously played for the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA. He now plays in the Forward-Center position for the Utah Jazz in the NBA.

Lauri Markkanen was born on May 22, 1997 in Vantaa, Finland. He played basketball in high school in Jyvaskyla, Finland and college basketball for the Arizona Wildcats basketball team before signing up for the NBA. He made his NBA debut for the Chicago Bulls on October 19, 2017. He has gained numerous achievements in his career so far. This includes being the NBA All-Star player and the NBA Most Improved Player in 2023. He was also a 6-times Finnish Player of the Year. He was also a member of the First Team All-Pac-12 and Third Team All-American -AP, NABC, SN in 2017.

Markkanen has so far gained a PPG of 25.6, with a RPG of 8.6, APG of 1.9 and a PIE of 15.4. He is a member of the Finland National Basketball Team in the upcoming 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
