Born on December 11, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, Malcolm Brogdon is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA.

Before the NBA, Brogdon played college basketball for the University of Virginia. As a senior in the 2015/16 season, he averaged 18.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 37 games. He won numerous awards, including ACC Player of the Year, NABC Defensive Player of the Year, First-team All-American, and a finalist for the Naismith Award.

Brogdon became the first player in conference history to win both the ACC Player of the Year and the Defensive Player of the Year in the same season. In four seasons in college, he averaged 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in 136 appearances.

Brogdon was selected with the 36th overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2016 NBA Draft. In his first season with the Bucks, he averaged 10.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game in 75 appearances, and was named the NBA Rookie of the Year. He was the first player in Bucks history after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1969–70) to win Rookie of the Year.

In the 2022/23 season for the Boston Celtics, Brogdon played 67 games and averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He won the Sixth Man of the Year while playing for the Celtics last season.
