Brogdon moved to the Indiana Pacers on June 29, 2019, via a sign-and-trade with the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for future picks. He signed a contract with the Pacers worth $85.0 million over four years. He posted his most points in a game against the Toronto Raptors on January 25, 2021, with 36 points. After three seasons in Indiana, Brogdon was traded to the Boston Celtics. He was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year in his debut season in Boston, coming off the bench in most games during the season. He was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers on October 1, 2023, along with Robert Williams III and two future first-round draft picks in exchange for Jrue Holiday.

Internationally, Brogdon played for the United States national team at the 2015 Pan American Games, where he won a bronze medal.
