Steve Clifford is an American origin head coach for the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA. Clifford grew up in the town of Mattawamkeag in Maine province. Further he attended the Maine University for his college ball and led the team as a captain in his final two years and was also acknowledged with the Defensive player of the Year award.

Clifford has served as an assistant coach for several teams including New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, and Charlotte Hornets before finally becoming the head coach of Magic in 2018. In 2022, he was hired by the Charlotte Hornets as a senior coach.

According to Sportac, the Hornets rewarded the coach with a multi-year deal that is supposed to be of 3 years. The 2023-24 will be his second year of the deal that will last till the 2025 offseason.
