Talen Jalee Horton-Tucker is an American professional who plays as a back-up shooting guard for the Utah Jazz in the NBA. Born on November 25, 2000, Horton-Tucker is known for being a two-way versatile shooting guard. He is a left-handed player and provides energy off-the-bench for the Jazz.

Raised in the Uptown neighborhood on the Northside of Chicago, Horton-Tucker attended St. Matthias Elementary School, where he learnt basketball’s ABCD and became the best player in the city. He was honored by St. Matthias School by retiring his No. 5 jersey. Then, Horton-Tucker’s high school career at Simeon Career Academy was outstanding as he led them to three consecutive City Championships, and was recognized as a four-star athlete.

After high school, he played one college season at Iowa State, where he averaged 11.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals over 27 minutes per game, and emerged as a player with raw potential. In the 2019 NBA Draft, Horton-Tucker was selected as the 46th overall pick by the Orlando Magic but was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers on draft night in exchange for a 2020 second-round draft pick and cash considerations.

Horton-Tucker made history by becoming the second-youngest player to win an NBA championship, achieving this feat at 19 years and 322 days old. Currently, he plays for the Utah Jazz and is known as a good two-way shooting guard. Described as a skilled player with a great feel for the game, Horton-Tucker possesses good athleticism to attack the rim and demonstrates solid basketball IQ. His hand width of 9.75 inches and a wingspan of 7-foot-1.25 was largest amongst all the guards in the 2019 NBA draft combine.
