A Slovenian basketball participant, Zoran Dragic was born on June 22, 1989. He performs professionally for the Cedevita Olimpija of the Slovenian League and the ABA League. Along with his professional career, Zoran also represented the Slovenian national basketball team in several international basketball matches along with the FIBA World Cup and the Olympic Games.

Zoran started out his basketball journey in his hometown, wherein he joined Ilirija, a basketball team primarily based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Thereafter, he spent some time inside the NBA with numerous groups like the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, and the Miami Heat. After that, Zoran returned to Europe and excelled on the basketball court with several basketball teams.

Marinko Dragic and Mojca Dragic, the proud parents of Zoran Dragic and his older brother Goran Dragic, had been instrumental in shaping the career of the professional basketball player, Zoran Dragic. Hailing from Slovenia, Marinko and Mojca instilled in their sons a strong work ethic and an early passion for the sport. Their unwavering support and dedication to their training propelled them to the international stage. Through their guidance and support, Zoran Dragic honed his basketball skills that have helped him to earn a wealthy spot in the basketball world.

Professional Career

Zoran Dragic began his basketball career with Ilirija of the Slovenian 1B league in 2004. He joined Jance STZ of the Slovenian D2 League in the 2005-06 season, The next season, he became a member of the Geoplin Slovan of the Slovenian League wherein he performed four seasons before signing with Krka in 2010.

Zoran entered the NBA in 2012 after joining the Houston Rockets however he later signed a two-year deal with Unicaja Malaga of the Liga ACB. Later, in 2014, he signed a contract extension with the same group and went directly to play for them. On September 29, 2014, Zoran signed a two-yr. agreement with the Phoenix Suns. After a lone season, he joined the Miami Heat via trade by his previous team in February 2015. Zoran was traded to the Boston Celtics on July 27 but this team waived him on August 10.

In 2015, Zoran Dragic left the NBA and returned to Europe where he played for several basketball groups. He signed a two-year deal with Khimki, a Russian Club. After playing a single season, Zoran left the team and signed with an Italian club Olimpia Milano on July 7, 2016. Thereafter, he signed to play with the Turkish club Anadolu Efes on November 21, 2017. At the finish of the regular season with this group, Zoran tore his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) which required some time for recovery. After recovering, he returned to the basketball court in January 2019.

In 2019, Zoran signed with various basketball teams including the Alma Trieste and Ratiopharm Ulm. He officially signed with Liga ACB club Baskonia on January 30, 2020. Zaron extended his ongoing contract with this team on August 5. His move to the next team came in October 2021 when he signed with Zalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League for the rest of the season. Zoran is now performing for Cedevita Olimpija of the Slovenian League and the ABA League since he signed a contract with them on January 9, 2022.
