Lathan Ransom is a football safety who concluded his five-year collegiate career with the Ohio State Buckeyes after the 2024 regular season. Ransom is a defensive back who can play both as a cornerback and safety. Lathan played high school football at Salpointe Catholic, where he was rated a four-star prospect and was the 160th overall recruit in the class of 2020. In his three years on the varsity team, Ransom totaled 26 career touchdowns and 11 interceptions at Salpointe.

Lathan Ransom embarked on his collegiate football journey with the Ohio State Buckeyes over offers from LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas in 2019. In his freshman season in 2020, Ransom played in seven games and made six tackles, including five in the Big Ten Championship game and the playoffs, according to the Buckeyes' roster page. The following season, as a sophomore, he saw action in 13 games, registering 38 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, and one forced fumble. Ransom began the 2022 season as a backup to Josh Proctor and played the second-most safety snaps and bagged a career-high 74 total tackles. Over his five seasons with the Buckeyes, Ransom has garnered 228 total tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. Ransom announced that he will enter the 2025 NFL Draft following the 2024 season.
