Luke Lachey is an American football tight end playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes, as of December 2024. The Columbus, Ohio native played high school football at the Grandview Heights High School, where he was a four-year and a two-year letter winner in basketball and track, respectively. Luke, the son of former NFL player Jim Lachey, played tight end, defensive back, and wide receiver in high school. During his junior season, Lachey caught 45 passes for 763 yards and 12 touchdowns while helping his team reach the state playoffs. Luke was the No. 474 overall recruit in the class of 2020 and was rated a three-star prospect out of high school.

Lachey started his collegiate football journey with Iowa Hawkeyes over offers from Wisconsin, LSU, Kentucky, and Michigan State, among others, in 2020. He was redshirted in his freshman season and cracked the starting lineup in the 2021 season playing in 13 games with three starts, catching eight passes for 133 yards. In his third year as a sophomore, Lachey racked up 28 receptions for 398 yards with four touchdowns and saw action in 13 games. The talented Columbus, Ohio native was sidelined with a season-ending injury for the majority of 2023. Luke recorded 10 receptions for 131 yards through three games in his junior season. The tight end made it to the 2023 John Mackey Award preseason Watch List, given to the nation’s top tight end annually. In the 2024 season, Lachey made 27 receptions for 227 yards.
