Omarion Hampton is an American running back who played three seasons of college football with the North Carolina Tar Heels. Hampton attended Cleveland High School, where he commenced his football career. Throughout his high school career, he rushed for 5,370 yards and 88 touchdowns. His performance earned him accolades such as the Gatorade North Carolina Football Player of the Year and Mr. Football for North Carolina.
Omarion Hampton joined the Tar Heels in 2022 and immediately made an impact as a true freshman, rushing for 401 yards and six touchdowns in his debut season. During his sophomore year, he rushed for 1,504 yards and 15 touchdowns, finishing fifth in the FBS in rushing yards. Hampton finished his junior season in 2024 with 1,660 rushing yards, which is the second-most in a single campaign by a Tar Heel player. Hampton concluded his UNC career with 3,565 rushing yards and became the fourth all-time leader in rushing yards in Tar Heel history.
