Philip John Fleck Jr is the head coach of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, as of 2024. Fleck Jr. has been the head coach of the Golden Gophers since 2017. Prior to his coaching career, Fleck Jr. played as a wide receiver at Northern Illinois University. He earned first-team All-MAC honors and set multiple school records before briefly playing for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. P.J. Fleck began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Ohio State University in 2006 before moving to various positions at Northern Illinois and Rutgers.

Fleck's first major head coaching role came at Western Michigan from 2013 to 2016. He led the Broncos to a historic 13-0 season in 2016 and their first MAC Championship since 1988. His success earned him recognition as MAC Coach of the Year twice. In 2019 with the Gophers, the Gophers achieved an 11-win season, marking their best performance since 1904. They defeated top-ranked teams like Penn State and Auburn.
