I also want to thank my family and especially my husband, Abrar, who has been a great support throughout my career and has provided me encouragement to continue to play for Pakistan."

Bismah Maroof's Commonwealth Games Controversy
The 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) was held in Birmingham between July 25 to August 8. The Pakistan Women's team also participated in the competition, and the team was supposed to reside in CWG village in the UK.
However, Pakistan Women's skipper Bismah Maroof's infant daughter was denied access into the CWG village. Maroof was previously thinking over her decision whether to participate in the competition or not. But she had eventually decided to stay outside the village in a hotel alongside her mother who would take care of Fatima.
As per reports, the PCB had requested the CWG Federation for two more accommodations into the village for Bismah and Fatima. The Federation responded by asking the PCB to remove two members from the travelling list in order to fit in Maroof, and her daughter. With a total of 22 members including both players and officials, the PCB stated that it was in no position for any replacement of players or officials.
But on PCB's assurance, the federation allowed Bismah Maroof's mother, nd daughter to stay in the CWG village by granting two extra accommodations.
As per a report, “The Games organizers have agreed to issue two extra accreditations for the baby and Bismah’s mother. The PCB has also agreed to bear all extra expenditures to ensure that the baby stays with her mother during the Games period.”
The CWG Federation, Pakistan Olympic Association and the PCB had long discussions so as to help the Maroof bring in her mother and daughter for the tournament. At first, it seemed like Bismah would miss out but everything got resolved in the end.
"I want to thank the Commonwealth Games for accepting our request to accommodate our captain Bismah Maroof’s family at the Games village which will allow her to focus on the task at hand without any worries about her young infant daughter," Tania Mallick, PCB's head of women cricket, said in a statement.
