Nathan Lyon House

Nathan Michael Lyon, the Australian off-spin bowler, was born on November 20, 1987, in Young, New South Wales. Lyon moved to Canberra as a teenager and played for Cricket ACT at the under-17 and under-18 levels. He later joined Western Districts and the University of Canberra Cricket Club, participating in ACT Grade cricket. In 2008, Lyon debuted for the ACT Comets in the Cricket Australia Cup against the South Australian Second XI.

While competing for the Comets in the Futures League, Lyon began playing for Prospect Cricket Club in South Australia after relocating to Adelaide in 2010. In 2011, he made his Test debut for Australia against Sri Lanka. Following his debut, Lyon appeared in T20 Internationals until October 2018 and One-Day Internationals until July 2019. As of December 2024, he represents Australia exclusively in Test cricket. Lyon has taken more than 500 Test wickets at an average of 30.45.
