At just 22 years of age, left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has cemented his place in the Indian Test and T20I teams in no time. He was born on December 28, 2001, in Suriyawan Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh.

Yashasvi made his international debut in a Test match against West Indies in July 2023. His debut inning saw the youngster score 171 runs. Since then, he has been consistent in the red-ball format. In eight Tests so far, he has scored 971 runs at an average of 69.35.

Yashasvi Jaiswal hails from Uttar Pradesh but he shifted to Mumbai at an early age. He lived in a tent before the famous coach of Mumbai Cricket Club, Jwala Singh, spotted him and decided to help him financially. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s father, Bhupendra Jaiswal, was a street food seller.
