Charles Leclerc is a Monegasque racing driver who competes in open-wheel racing series. Leclerc participates in the Formula 1 series for Ferrari driving the No. 16 car for the team. Leclerc is among the top drivers of the grid. He is known for his extravagant qualifying speed. It is complemented by the fact that Leclerc has 27 poles to his name in Formula 1 during his career. Charles Leclerc is nicknamed “Il Predestinato” which means the “Predestined one”. Leclerc is currently third in the 2024 Formula 1 driver standings. He has two wins in the 2024 season with 254 points as of October 6, 2024.

Charles Leclerc is the winner of the two most prestigious races on the Formula 1 calendar during the 2024 season - the Monaco GP and the Monza GP. Leclerc has seven wins to his name in the Formula 1 series. He is set to drive alongside Lewis Hamilton as Ferrari for the 2024 season. Leclerc replaced Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari in the 2019 season and has been performing for the Italian outfit ever since. He has not won any championship in Formula 1 but is a championship winner in the GP3 and Formula 2 series.

Charles Leclerc Contract

According to reports from BBC, Charles Leclerc has signed a contract extension with Ferrari which will last until the end of the 2029 season. He had previously signed a three-year contract with Ferrari in 2019. Leclerc’s contract was extended until the end of the 2024 season. Leclerc is known for having the longest contract in the history of Ferrari’s Formula 1 roster. BBC stated that his salary is expected to rise to $50 million by the end of his tenure at Ferrari.

Leclerc has been a part of the Ferrari Drivers Academy since 2016. He was a developmental driver for Haas and Scuderia Ferrari until 2017. Leclerc debuted in Formula 1 with Alfa Romeo Sauber in 2018. He finished 13th in the drivers' standings with 39 points.

Charles Leclerc's Salary

Charles Leclerc has a salary of $34 million in 2024 according to reports from Spotrac. He received a salary hike of $15 million from his previous pay of $19 million in 2023. Leclerc is expected to receive another pay hike ranking him among the top-three drivers in the grid. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are the only drivers with a higher salary than Leclerc in the current season, as per Spotrac rankings of Formula 1 driver salaries.
