Carlos Sainz Jr. is a Spanish Formula 1 (F1) racing driver who competes with the Williams Racing F1 team for the 2025 season. He was born on September 1, 1994, in Madrid, Spain. Sainz started his racing career in 2006, and two years later he won his first major title at the Asia-Pacific KF3. He is the son of the two-time World Rally Championship driver, Carlos Sainz Sr., and Reyes Vazquez de Castro. His father won the rally championship title in 1990 and 1992 with 26 rally victories.

Mentored by his champion father, Carlos Sainz Jr. moved to open-seater racing at 16 years old. He debuted in Formula Europe with the Formula BMW racing team and gained a single win with four podiums in his rookie season. In 2011, he tasted his first championship title with 10 wins and seven podiums at the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC. Later, he also clinched his second racing title at the Formula Renault 3.5 with the DAMS racing team in 2014. He made his Formula 1 debut in 2015 with the Toro Rosso F1 team.

He did his graduation in Business Administration and Management from Comillas Pontifical University and has a degree of Master in Finance from IE School.
