Nick Taylor is considered one of the best players to start the Shriners Children's Open. He played at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas and scored an excellent 10-under 132, thanks to two rounds of 65 and 67.

Taylor, originally hailing from Manitoba but raised in the scenic landscapes of British Columbia, first teed off his golf journey at the tender age of 10. With a natural flair for the sport, he swiftly honed his talent, earning a string of accolades that painted a vivid picture of a promising career. Notably, he clinched victory at the British Columbia High School Championship, a feat that paved the way for a golf scholarship at the esteemed University of Washington.

During his tenure as a Husky, Nick didn't just play; he excelled. The 2008 NCAA Division I Championship saw him secure a runner-up finish, a prelude to his impressive ninth-place tie in the subsequent year. His contributions were pivotal in steering the Huskies to top-10 finishes in both seasons. The pinnacle of his collegiate journey came in 2010 when he was bestowed with the prestigious Ben Hogan Award, a testament to his standing as the top player in his division that year.

Taylor embarked on his professional journey after his university stint, initially gracing the PGA Tour Canada from 2011 to 2013. With stellar performances, he swiftly ascended to the Korn Ferry Tour for the 2013-14 season. True to form, his inaugural season on the premier developmental tour of North America was nothing short of spectacular, securing him a coveted PGA Tour card after just one year. Making his mark as a full-fledged member in the 2014-15 season, he wasted no time, clinching his maiden PGA Tour victory at the 2014 Sanderson Farms Championship a mere three weeks into his debut.

Although Taylor managed to maintain his status as a PGA Tour member, his performance was inconsistent over the next few seasons. It wasn't until six years later that he earned his second tour victory, the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. In 2023, Taylor won the RBC Canadian Open, becoming the first Canadian to win the premier domestic tournament since 1954, thanks to a 72-foot winning putt.

Nick Taylor played 25 tournaments on the PGA Tour Canada and made 22 cuts with 10 top-10 finishes. On the Korn Ferry Tour, he made 14 cuts in 27 tournaments and achieved three top-10 finishes. He has played in 253 tournaments on the PGA Tour, made 156 cuts, and won three times with 15 top-10 finishes.
