Seamus Power was born and raised in the Irish town of Waterford. He sadly lost his mother when he was only eight years old.

Power developed an early interest in golf and played for his high school team. He attempted to attend a college in the United States after graduating in 2006. Despite sending letters to various institutions, he received no encouraging responses. That's when he decided to pursue Plan B, which was to take accounting courses at a university in Ireland.

But luck was on Power's side when East Tennessee State coach Fred Warren saw him play at the European Boy's team Championship in Italy. Warren, impressed with his abilities, offered him a spot on the school's golf team, which Seamus enthusiastically accepted. This proved pivotal in Seamus Power's career, as he refined his talents and finally made it to the PGA Tour.

Seamus Power worked hard during his time at East Tennessee State, winning five events, including the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship twice.

Seamus Power has successfully built a reputation for himself on the PGA Tour, winning the 2021 Barbasol Championship in a playoff over the talented JT Poston.

To make ends meet, Edmond worked either the 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. shift or the 4 p.m. to midnight shift at Boston Scientific. He managed the farm and grabbed some sleep between shifts, all while supporting his children's athletic pursuits.
