Justin Rose, an English professional golfer, plays on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour as of March 2025. Before turning professional, he won four amateur titles between 1995 and 1998. Further, he also participated in the 1998 Open Championship and finished as a low amateur, winning a silver medal for his 50-yard birdie on the final hole. Rose turned professional later that year and had his first pro wins on the Japan Golf Tour and the Sunshine Tour. Moving on, his first European Tour win came at the 2002 Dunhill Championship, while his first PGA Tour win was secured at the 2010 Memorial Tournament.

His most memorable wins include the 2013 U.S. Open and the 2012 and 2017 World Golf Championships (WGC). Further, he was also the European Tour Order of Merit winner in 2007 and the PGA Tour FedEx Cup winner in 2018. Rose also reached the world No. 1 ranking in September 2018, holding the position for 13 weeks in his career so far. As of March 2025, he is ranked number 34 in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).

As per the BBC, Justin's father, Ken Rose, who was also his coach, passed away at the age of 57 in 2002 due to cancer. Ken used to caddie for Justin during his initial years as a professional. After his father's passing, a statement issued by a representative of Justin Rose's management company, IMG, read: "Our thoughts are with the family at this very sad time and may we please ask that the Rose family are left alone to grieve in private."

Back in 2002, when Ken was recovering from chemotherapy, Rose dedicated his first career victory, the 2002 Dunhill Championship in January, to him. He said, "My dad's not so well and he is the guy I owe most to. He's put a lot of time, a lot of hours into my game. This win is for him more than anybody." (via BBC)

A decade later, after his win at the 2013 U.S. Open, Rose picked up the ball and gestured to the sky, dedicating his win to his late father. Rose gave a brief speech about his choice to dedicate the victory to his late father. He said, “Father’s Day was not lost on me today. You don’t have opportunities to really dedicate a win to someone you love. And today was about him and being Father’s Day.” (via Heavy)
