Belgian golfer Thomas Pieters, who debuted on the European Tour and LIV Golf, was born on January 27, 1992. In the summer of 2013, Pieters made the decision to leave his senior year at the University of Illinois and turn professional. He finished T29 in his first European Tour event, the Alstom Open de France, in July.

Pieters and Thomas Detry, playing for Belgium, won the 2018 World Cup of Golf in November at the Metropolitan Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia. Pieters overcame Adri Arnaus by one stroke in August 2019 when he shot a 3-under 69 to become the first golfer to win the D+D Real Czech Masters twice.

At the Portugal Masters in November 2021, Pieters won his fifth European Tour event. Pieters won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship two months later for his maiden Rolex Series triumph and sixth success on the European Tour.

Pieters' affiliation with LIV Golf was officially announced in February 2023.
